Flashback Friday: The Gordon Gartrell Shirt

“Whaaaat is this?!”

If you were a fan of “The Cosby Show” in the 80s and 90s, you remember the episode where character Theo Huxtable was dying to wear a Gordon Gartrell designer shirt to impress a date. Theo’s sister, Denise, offered to make him a replica of the fictitious $95 shirt

The result was comedy gold. Just like the shirt.

Well ladies, thanks to Banana Republic, you can now have your own Gordon Gartrell-inspired creation:

1984 called. It said you can have the shirt.

Did the BR designers know the mustard version (it comes in five colors) looked reminiscent of the 80s fictional designer shirt, or is it a clever fashion Easter egg? 🙂

Enjoy the week ahead!
